Unifier victory is arguably the most peaceful one, where you'll diplomatically annex (Read: Do quests for AI independent cities or buy them outright) independent cities to make sure you gather a lot of racial points (Races don't like it if you declare war on their cities). When you do capture a Seal, this usually means instant war with everyone and you'll have to defend yourself. Once you reach a set number of points, you win. This earns you points every turn, and you'll earn more points if you have more than one seal. Seals victory is a king of the hill type game where you have to capture a location and hold it for some time. These are the alternative victory conditions (other than domination): Is AoW3 less buggy in its MP?ġ: Combat is unfortunately neccessary no matter what victory condition you're going for. How stable is multiplayer with around 4-5 people? Civ5 seemed rather unstable in that my friends and I got quite a bit of desyncs. I guess what I mean is are there a lot of options in fights? Does the game have a lot of units? Does terrain or cover have effects? Basically, does the combat offer a lot of replay value or does it get repetitive somewhat quickly? How deep is the game's combat system compared to, say, games like the new XCOM? I know "depth" of the system is a difficult thing to quantify. Is this true even now with the expansions or are there viable alternative paths to victory? Also, how is the Diplomacy in this game?ĭo the expansion packs add a lot/change things significantly? Are they like Civ5's expansion packs in amount of content/changes? ![]() I've heard that the game (at least the base game) placed most of its emphasis on combat. That said, it's much more pricy (even on sale) than most of the stuff I buy, so I want to know a few things about it before I pick it up and try to convince my friends to join me. ![]() This game's been on my wishlist for a very long time and looks really cool.
